Welcome to Flag Football

We are so thrilled you have signed your child(ren) up for Dixon Flag Football! 

Here is a rundown of what's in store for Sunday, March 9 at the Skills Combine:

LOCATION: 
JKMS Middle School

TIME SLOTS:

** COMBINES WILL TAKE PLACE IN 45 MINUTE SESSIONS BY GRADE

7th & 8th grade: 9:00am

5th & 6th grade: 9:45am

3rd & 4th grade: 10:30am

K, 1st & 2nd grade: 11:15am

PLEASE ARRIVE AT LEAST 20 MINUTES PRIOR TO START TIME TO GET YOUR CHILD CHECKED IN! 

Players will be put through a warm up that shows their speed and agility, and then put through 4 stations:
- Snaps
- Throws
- Route running/catching 
- "Tackling" - flag pulling & field awareness

Don't worry, players will receive instruction at each of these stations--they are not expected to know all of these skills prior to participating. 

As a reminder, game Sundays are:
March 23
March 30
April 6
April 13
April 20 (BYE WEEKEND)
April 27
May 4 (Tournament)

Games will start at 11pm and conclude by 6pm. Younger grades will play first, and older grades will play later. 

As a reminder, this is an introductory/developmental league. IDEALLY your team should practice in the 45-60 minutes immediately before your game each Sunday, so everyone is able to make it, and instruction is fresh in the kids' mind. If your team chooses to have an OPTIONAL practice on another day of the week (it MUST be OPTIONAL), we are limiting each team to one additional practice per week, at the coach's discretion. We want families to feel that this league is a manageable commitment, and we want the playing field to be as level as possible for all teams. 

Jerseys are made-to-order, so they will likely be distributed at the first game. Please don't ask your coach about this issue. Please make sure the jersey size you put at registration is accurate. Your child will need black shorts with no pockets, molded cleats, and a mouthpiece.

Buddy/Family Requests: Coaches are allowed one "Coach's Pick" (their own child or relative, etc.). However, teams will be drafted by the coaches. They will be able to see the notes, but we make NO PROMISES that any request will work out. If you have a request, you may email it to flagfb@dixonyfc.com or let us know when checking in at the combine.

The application for coaches will open 1-6-25

The amount of coaches needed will depend on signups / team sizes. Someone will contact you as soon as we have the registration done the combine is going to be March 9th to see kids skills for draft. 

Once you register your child online you'll need to download & complete the 7 forms accessible online under the registration tab of our website dixonyfc.com.

Incomplete files will not be accepted. Please have packet with all of the first 9 items complete before turning in. 

NEEDED ITEMS: 

1. Player Participation ID Card

2. COPY of birth certificate 

A. If your child played last season we have a copy which we will add to your file.

3. Participation Contract

4. . Medical Clearance Current Year Physical Form (Must me turned in before they can play)

5. Waiver

6. Emergency Med Info ISAC

7. Game Day COD

8. Image Release

9. Volunteer Check/Money Order in the Amount of $300 per family 

A. Payments made to: DIXON DYFC

B. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR VOLUNTEER ITEM            

C. MEMO: must include printed full name of each child participating within the same family. 

D. Once a total of 6 hrs of volunteer duties per family is completed. Volunteer items will not be cash & returned at end of season/gear turn in. Volunteer Hours will be available on dibs.

Please set up your fundraiser right away your player / cheerleader is responsible for fundraising a minimum of $100 each. 

The first 9 items Must be completed and checked off by Board Member 

MUST BE DONE BEFORE THEY CAN STEP ON THE FIELD!!!

Please fill out the head coach application for fall 2025. Please keep in mind applying does not guarantee a spot as a head coach. Applications will be open until May 31st at which time the board will vote and the the AD will reach out and update of head coach picks. Please email President or 1 of the AD's with any questions.
